Integration with Mixpanel

Overview

You can now leverage the Mixpanel’s existing instrumentation and push all product usage events directly to CustomerSuccessBox. You can read more about the benefits of this integration here.

Mixpanel is a product analytics tool that enables you to capture data on how users interact with your digital product. This integration is custom and requires the CustomerSuccessBox’s integration team to activate it. Enabling this integration may take upto 2-4 weeks once authorized in CustomerSuccessBox.

Pre-Requisites :

  • Admin/Developer access on CustomerSucessBox

  • On mixpanel, finalized unique identifiers for accounts and users for CSB must be present in User and Company properties

Why should I integrate with Mixpanel ?


Connecting Segment with CustomerSuccessBox, enables you to

  • Capture product usage events and/or create new users and accounts

  • Manage account and user attributes

  • Get Risk Alerts whenever users are inactive 

  • Upsell Alerts based on product usage

  • Set up Product Adoption Health

  • Segment Accounts on product adoption metrics

  • Track active/inactive users

This document covers how CustomerSuccessBox will consume the Mixpanel’s events, and the minimum data points to be pushed to CustomerSuccessBox in order to leverage Mixpanel’s integration. 

With this integration, you can push

  • Feature Usage Events(Telemetry Data) - a standalone feature used by a user. 

    • For example: Project Created, Task completed, etc.

Note : CSB only fetches the event but not their properties.

  • User Properties : standard user properties, like User Role, Name etc.

Note : Telemetry Data can either be pushed via Mixpanel or via using CustomerSuccessBox API/JS libraries.


Authorizing Mixpanel

Mixpanel app is as simple as adding a new destination in Segment:

  1. Login into your CustomerSuccessBox account

  2. Navigate to Settings > Integration Hub

  3. Search for “Mixpanel” and click on “Connect Now”

  4. Fill "API key” retrieved from your Mixpanel Account

Once authorized, notify your CSM.


NOTE:

We process and aggregate any kind of data received from Segment on a daily basis (at the start of GMT, 00:00 GMT).

Expect Health/Alert/Segment/Milestones to be calculated on the subsequent day. 


In most cases, you would have a dedicated Customer Success Manager who will be your point-of-contact for any queries or assistance. You may also,

  1. Initiate a chat directly from within CustomerSuccessBox. Use chat option from Chat option under help (?) tab present on the top navigation bar
